Wellness Aquatics
Schedule
The YWCA High Point pool offers
a variety of therapeutic and fitness programs for all ages. The
water temperature is kept within the Arthritis Foundation guidelines
of 83 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit and chemically balanced providing fun
and healthy pleasure.
● Seniors improve muscle ton and
flexibility with increasing aerobic capacity and cardiovascular
fitness
● Learn to swim: all age groups
● Locker rooms are available: bring your own lock.
Silver Sneakers
The YWCA is partnered with Silver Sneakers. Silver Sneakers is a
fun, energizing program targeted for older adults and seniors to
help live a fit, active and independent lifestyles by encouraging
physical activity and offering social events.
Arthritis Water Exercise
This program is designed specifically for those people who may
have arthritis or other physical limitations. It is also a good
course to use for physical rehabilitation after surgery (with
doctor’s permission). Instructors are trained by the Arthritis
Foundation in exercise designed to increase joint mobility, increase
muscle ton and flexibility. This class is offered Tuesdays and
Thursdays at 11:00am-11:45am. Monthly $ 30 for adults, $ 25 for
seniors.
Water Aerobics
This class is an aerobic workout complete with warm up, a 20
minute aerobic routine and cool down in the water, there is less
chance of strained muscles. Also, as with the AFAP and Water
Aerobics classes, all exercises are done in the shallow end of the
pool - you don't even get your hair wet if you don't want to!
(Monthly $30 adults, $25 seniors)
Swim Lessons
We offer swim lessons for all ages 6 months and older. (2x a
week for 4 week class)$40 for member, $60 for nonmembers (2x a week
for 7 weeks class) $75 for member, 115 for nonmember. Call the YWCA
for more information.
Home School Swimming Lessons
The YWCA will provide swimming lessons taught by Red Cross Certified
Instructors for your Physical Education curriculum for Home School
families. Along with this we have open family time for
families who want to enjoy the exercises and afternoon activities
with their children.
Swim Team

The YWCA of High Point pool is available for
baptisms, birthday
parties, special events and other community functions.

WELLNESS PROGRAMS
MSRM - SilverSneakers
We do a variety of exercises in chairs, standing and
sitting. Rubber bands are used for flexibility and joint mobility
and light weights are used for muscle tone and endurance. We have
music to go along with your movement. This class is highly
recommended for people with arthritis, being overweight,
fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, bursitis and multiple sclerosis.
Yoga
We conduct Yoga classes on Wednesday 6pm-7pm with Kevin Little.
New members are always welcomed!
