Women's Resource
Center

How can you help:
Printable Brochure
The Women’s Resource
Center serves as a “one-stop-shop” center where individuals can
obtain information about resources available in the community as
well as fill the gap of services not provided in High Point and
surrounding areas.
Currently those in need of this service are
shuffling from agency to agency in search of services. This can be
very frustrating to those who are in need of services or in crisis
situations, especially in a rural county with limited access to
public transportation.
The Women’s Resource Center will stop the
shuffling from agency to agency through working directly with
individuals to address their needs and referring the individual
directly to organizations who can meet these needs. The YWCA staff
and volunteers will also follow up with the individuals to ensure
that they are receiving the support that they need to lead a
successful life.
The primary purpose of the Women’s Resource Center
is to empower and support women and their families in achieving
their personal and professional goals through information,
education, referral and support services to eliminate the barriers
they face. These objectives will be accomplished by providing
services and programs in the following areas: Support Services,
Women’s Empowerment Programs, Resource Library and Technology Lab,
and Resource and Referral Program.

At one time or
another, we all face challenges in life. For many women, those
challenges may seem so overwhelming that they don't know where to go
for help. It could mean struggling with unemployment, not having
the proper clothes to wear when going on a job interview, or trying
to provide nutritious meals for their families. |
