Ready
To Ride
The Volvo Ready to Ride
program is a partnership between the YWCA and Volvo to provide
families of low income car seats.
Women
in Transition
Women in Transition is a program designed for women who are
moving through a challenging transition in their lives. Changes
could include career changes, becoming a new mother, loss of a mate
(due to death/divorce/separation), a recent move, empty nest
syndrome, relationship struggles, or a need to rebuild self esteem. Women
in Transition meets on the first Thursday of each month from
6-7:30pm
. Light dinner is provided.
Child care is
available upon request. Request must be made at least 3 days
prior to meeting.
Grandparents
Raising Grandchildren
This program is FREE for grandparents who are raising their
grandchildren. Lunch & Learn sessions are held on the second
Tuesday of each month, from noon-1pm to provide lunch and a speaker
to discuss topics that are of interest to the growing needs of
grandparents as caretakers. In addition to the speaker, the program
allows grandparents with similar situations to meet and share
information with other grandparents by participating in encouraging
discussions and obtaining helpful information and resources.
Child care and
transportation is available upon request. Requests must be made at
least 3 days prior to meeting.
Alcoholics
Anonymous
AA meets at the YWCA Fridays from
11:30am-1pm
.
Forums
The YWCA will host various forums on such topics as Social Security,
violence and talking parent-child communication.
