Save the Date - Woman of Achievement Luncheon - April 23, 2014

Speaker Laura Hamilton

NOMINATE A Woman of Achievement TODAY!!
Nomination Deadline March 31st
Nomination Form

This “Special TRIAD Event” will honor women who are making a difference in their community.

She is the woman who is always there, often behind the scenes, committed to going "above & beyond."  She is always taking on another project, not for her own glory, but because she sees the need, and steps up to the task.  She encourages the group to achieve more than one person ever could and fades back to let the group take the credit.  You have often admired and needed her.  Now is the time to honor her.

Awards will be given for the following:
Emerging Leader – An up and coming role model, age 40 or under, who has demonstrated proficient skill and enthusiastic leadership in a career, family or community setting.
Community Champion – A woman who has devoted many years to making a significant difference for women and the community.

Administrative Support – An individual who provides exceptional support to her employer and is making a difference within her community.

Front Porch Conversations -  March 20th

Immortality, race, poverty, spirituality, gender, and science; how are these interconnected and the nexus to one of the most significant medical discoveries in the last century. Author Rebecca Skloot tells the  evocative story of cancer patient Henrietta Lacks. Lacks succumbed to cervical cancer in 1951, but not before countless biopsies had been taken of her    cancer cells. Without her or her family’s permission, the cells from these biopsies were reproduced, experimented on, and sold under the name of HeLa.  Discover how Henrietta’s story holds an important lesson for us all. Join the City of High Point Human Relations, High Point University and the YWCA for this two-part discussion at the YWCA / 112 Gatewood Ave/ High Point from 11:45am-1:00pm.
