YWCA Growing Our Future Construction Has Begun!!

The YWCA is excited that the construction process has begun!  If you are visiting the YWCA please remember parking is available at Bank of America, street parking on Gatewood Avenue and at High Point Enterprise on Gatewood (across Elm St.)

What is Social Justice?   Join the YWCA, High Point Human Relations Department and High Point University for a discussion on What is Social Justice. 

 

Women’s Self-Defense Class – SAFE:   Surviving A  Fighting Encounter will teach you basic survival and self-defense techniques.  Classes will be held for 8 weeks beginning, Monday, September 15  thru Monday,  November 3, 2014 @ 6pm-7:30 pm.  Each class is only $5.00 or you may pay $40.00 for all eight sessions.  This class is for adults, ages 18 years and above.  A waiver form must be completed by participants. 



Home Depot Do It Herself Workshop

Would you like to gain a new skill and have some fun with tools?  Join us for this fun and educational workshop as we learn how to build storage carts, utilize tools, and much more!!   This workshop will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 @ 6:30pm-8:00pm.
 



Crafts & Chat - This is an informal fellowship with those who enjoy making crafts and have experienced the death of a loved one. Crafts & Chat meets the last Wednesday of each month @ 1pm-3pm. Co-sponsored by Hospice of the Piedmont. Our next meeting will be Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Project idea: Pillow Case Décor



Mood Management Workshop “Everyone has a bad day or two.” “Have you asked yourself what could be the cause?”  Find potential solutions on Thursday, September 25, 2014 @ 6pm-7:30pm


Attention Book  Lover’s  and Movie Buffs !!  Visit the Women’s Resource Center the last Friday of each month to watch a feature film or participate in a book discussion that will “inspire and encourage” women of all walks of life.   Join us on September 26 @ 12 – 1 pm for a book discussion of Lies Women Believe: And the Truth that Sets them Free by Nancy Leigh De Moss.
