YWCA Growing Our Future Construction Update

 If you are visiting the YWCA please remember parking  for the pool entrance is located off of Westwood.  Parking for other programs is available at Bank of America, street parking on Gatewood Avenue and at High Point Enterprise on Gatewood (across Elm St.)


  YWCA Partners with Phoenix Academy Middle School

The YWCA High Point and Phoenix Academy Middle School have partnered together to provide an onsite after school program for the middle school students at the new school located at 7847 Clinard Farms Rd.  In regards to the new partnership, Mrs. Norcross, Phoenix Academy Superintendent states:  Phoenix Academy is thrilled to announce the partnership with the YWCA in after school care programs.  The YWCA will provide a middle grades program after school located at new middle/high school facility.  Together the two organizations strive to accommodate family needs and put students first.

participants will be exposed to new experiences, activities and skill sets while learning more about the people around them and the person that they want to be. Hula Hoop Classes at the YWCA - Every Tuesday at 6 pm

This fall in addition to pottery the YWCA Studio Art program is adding new classes and workshops.  These include:

Women In Transition - September 3rd    6pm-7pm

Women in Transition will meet on Thursday, September 3rd at 6pm-7pm for our monthly support group meeting.  Women in Transition is a monthly support group for women, ages 18 and older that are experiencing life transitions.  Women in Transition is a free program that enables women to identify community resources, set goals and develop tools to remove barriers.  A light meal will be served and childcare will provided for registered participants.  Please call (336) 882-4126 to register or to obtain more information.


 



Foster Art Creativity Empowerment & Truth

Every FACET of the GEMS program helps girls honor the power of their creativity and to

inspire other people through art to look at the world in new ways. Each 6-week program

Front Porch Conversations - September 17th at Noon

The theme for this year's series of Front Porch Conversations will be Putting Your Rights into ACTion.  Join the YWCA, City of High Point Human Relations and High Point University for a panel discussion.  The September session will provide an overview of the year and discussion around Title VI.   For more information call the YWCA at 882-4126.
