United Way WHEW! Donates Car Seats for Ready To Ride Program
The YWCA is thankful for a group of women who have come together under
United Way with the purpose of Women Helping Empower Women. This group
recently donated 11 new car seats to the YW Ready To Ride Program for
families in need! Thank you to these wonderful ladies and United
Way!

Yoga On Wednesday's @ 6:00 pm -7:00pm
Yoga,
in the twentieth century, is mainly practiced for health and
vitality.
It’s a marvelous means of
exercising, stretching, and freeing the body so it can be
healthy, long-lived, and vital instrument of the mind and
soul.
In addition a yogis can become
extremely clear-minded and can concentrate well.

beginner level yoga instructor and a licensed massage

Johnathan Flowers Memorial Golf Tournament - September 24th
You are invited to participate in our
annual
Johnathan W. Flowers
Memorial Golf Tournament.
This event
will be held at the Jamestown Golf
Club, Jamestown,
NC on Friday, September 24, 2010
and will benefit the
Johnathan W. Flowers
Scholarship Fund. This
fund was established in 1997 to allow
Guilford
County
youth safe, enriching, and enjoyable afterschool and
summertime activities at the YWCA in
Greensboro
and High Point.
Johnathan was actively
involved as a participant and then as a
counselor with the YWCA's
Afterschool and
Summer Camp Programs.
We are now
charged with fostering Johnathan's dream to help our
local children meet

West
African Drum Class
Wednesday, 7:30 – 8:30pm
July 7th
$50 for 4 weeks or $15 drop in per class
Get ready for four
weeks of high-energy rhythm and learning. Robin “Bountourabi”
Leftwich will be teaching the art of the hand drum of West Africa known as the “djembe” (jem-beh).
Students will learn traditional West African rhythms, basic
drumming techniques, and the cultural/historical background
of the rhythms. In addition to being great fun and
having proven health benefits, playing the djembe also helps
to increase your sense of rhythm, your right/left brain and
eye/hand coordination, and gives you a new creative outlet
for expressing yourself. All skill levels are welcome
and drums will be provided during the 1 hour class session.
